Last night our language school's soccer team took on a team called the Grüne Tulpen (literally: Green Tulips) and creamed them 4 to 2. My teammates Andy and Dan were out there kickin' it with the best of 'em. The most hilarious part of the whole thing is that the Grüne Tulpen is the soccer team of the Green Party, a major political party in Germany. We heard rumors that Joschka Fischer, the previous party leader, used to play on the team, but he doesn't anymore. Sad. He had some pretty funny commercials when he was running for chancellor a few years ago, so I would have been very amused to see him in person. No luck on that front, but all of the players were in the parliament, so that's still pretty cool if you ask me.
