A few days ago, I was out for dinner with some people from my church after a meeting and ended up sitting next to one of the pastors. He speaks excellent English since he lived in New York for a while, and as such, inserts random English words and phrases into his speech on a regular basis. The whole time at dinner, we were talking in German, but as he was about to leave, he looked at me and said, "Ok, I'm going to make like a Tom and Cruuuise." I have no idea where he learned such a phrase, but since he loved it so much, I taught him one of my favorites: "Make like a baby and head out." He thought it was so funny, he emailed a friend on the spot from his iPhone to tell them about it.
Also, at some point in the conversation, he mentioned how much he loves the phrase "My way or the highway" So much so , that he made up a German version: "Mein Plan oder die Autobahn."
