Pow: This morning, I saw a man sitting on a bench near Turmstrasse smoking a cigarette and wearing a long coat with no pants. He was fully covered by his coat, which was good, but I felt sad for him nonetheless. He looked like he maybe just wasn't quite with it, and possibly didn't realize he didn't have any pants on.
Wow: I finally made it to KaDeWe (Kaufhaus des Westens, i.e. monstrously large/gorgeous mall built during the days of East and West Berlin to show off all of the pretty things that the East Berliners could never have). Maureen, my boss-type person from the States, and I went there for lunch and ate our ridiculously expensive pasta overlooking the Ku'damm/Tiergarten/fancy-schmancy hotels. Also, in between bouts of apartment hunting, Erin, Bryce and I had some of the best pizza of my life at Ron Telesky Canadian Pizza, one of my new faves in the Gräfe-Kiez, and got chocolate mint brownies across the street at BackArt. Dan would be so jealous.
